They ditched the "grifter/conman running from a shady past" angle for Peter pretty fast in Fringe. I mean, he did have a complicated past, it just had nothing to do with grifting or Irak or running from loansharks. The writers just hadn't figured out Peter at this point yet.
To both be smiling after the big confession... That's a huge tell!!

There was no file. Olivia was bluffing. She admits to it later in the episode.
But if the file *did* exist, what would be on it to make Peter suddenly want to go with Olivia?

Peter remembered the first time they met when he was connecting with the machine, their first meeting was among other flashbacks of him and Olivia
One look from her and then the first time she opened her mouth....I would've been onboard for anything she asked. Good lord she's mesmerizing.

Did you see how he looked at her when he saw her for the first time? I think it WAS love at first sight, but then he got mistrustful when she said "FBI"
Actually it was. They knew each other when they were young and Walter was experimenting on Olivia.

I love stories that u dont expect to be a love story... This is the reason why i love Polivia so much! They started as strangers, colleagues, friends, then lovers and finally family... I just love how their relationship grew... One of the greatest love stories ever written!

god. Joshua Jackson is one attractive human being... plus the difference between Peter and Walters relationship from the first episode to the last is truly amazing, from 'id rather stay in iraq, thats how much i want to see my father' to 'i love you, dad'

This very scene sold me to the couple! Like the moment they shook hands and up until season 3 ep 23, I had no doubt that these two would end up together and would make a great couple.
Funny how he called her sweetheart then and you never see it now... I guess true love for them is much more than that :)
